In Ayurvedic pharmacology, Tribulus terrestris is used as a powder form of the aerial parts, particularly the fruits and it is known in Sanskrit as ‘Gokshura’, meaning the "cow's hoof", possibly because the small thorns tend to get stuck on grazing animals.
